"Aim for a profitable Japan by promoting exporting" was the business
philosophy of Mr.Harutaroh, a Dietman who served for seven terms and a former company
founder. "In early Meiji, Gunma's exports were raw silk and silk textiles. Our
company has been pushing international trade since that time," says President
Iitsuka.
Its products have been displayed at international exhibitions across the globe.
Official letters of thanks and commendation from a 1900 international exhibition in Paris,
a 1910 international exhibition held in London during the Anglo-Japanese Alliance, a 1911
international exhibition in Torino, a San Francisco international exhibition held the year
the Panama Canal was opened in 1916, and a St. Louis international exhibition have been
saved.
On the original land, the sawdust roofed Yabustuka stone factory has been remodelled
into a stylish hall which is used as a showroom, a citizens' lecture room and mini concert
space.
