In the 1.1 hectare plum grove, the most famous in the city, are 410 red plum and 235
white plum trees.
In addition to early spring plum blossum viewing, 'Citizens Plum Tree Hunting' is held
in June. The total number of plum trees in the city is 38,000. Next to South Park, the
best place in Kiryuu for plum viewing is the baseball stadium complex, including the
Hirosawa ballpark and sports grounds, tennis courts, softball field, outdoor stage and
grass field.
Opened to the public in August, 1981, the park is 10.2 hectares. |
