収集がむずかしいとされる「上野国藩札」。山口さんは館林、前橋、沼田、安中、七日市、小幡の上野国全部の藩のものを収集している。
新町、下仁田町、群馬町、草津町の「地方札」合わせて約１０００枚。安政６年刊の『根本山参詣飛渡里安内(ひとり案内)』など桐生関係の古書や古文書も保存。
山口さんは群馬貨幣協会長で、古銭の収集もある。 |
Although 'Ueno clan paper money' is said to be difficult to find, Mr. Yamaguchi has
managed to collect samples of all the different kinds of money issued by the Ueno lords in
Iibayashi, Maebashi, Numata, Annaka, Nanokaichi, and Obata.
He also has local paper money from Shinmachi, Shimonitamachi, Gunmacho, and Kusazucho -
about 1000 bills in total; and old documents and literature relating to Kiryuu like the
1859 'Mt. Nemoto Pilgrims' Guide'.
Associate president of the Gunma Coin Association, Mr. Yamaguchi collects old coins as
well. |
