Pictures and equipment of Kiryuu High's baseball team are kept at 'Inagawa Training
Hall', which is not usually open to the public.
Toichiro Inagawa (1905 - 1967) started the old system Kiryuu Junior High team while he
was still at the school. After graduation, he coached and managed the team for 45 years,
spending all his money to develop Kiryuu baseball.
Outside his private residence he put up the sign 'Baseball Training Hall', aiming to
make his home a place where players could build physical strength and cultivate their
mental powers, in other words, learn the complete 'Way of Baseball'. His team participated
in the summer All Japan Junior High (Senior High) Baseball Players' Tournament 13 times
and in the Koshien Invitational 11 times, winning twice - a great accomplishment. |
