The world of embroidery and lace is very broad. In the collection are original samples
and the materials needed to make them, including cross-stitch, free-stitch, cut-work,
drawn-work, narberusomu, petit-point, half-stitch, and twist embroidery; and Tohshoh lace,
Honeyton lace, Basque and other kinds of bobbin or Fie lace. Ms. Fujie has also produced a
sampler of large basic stitches.
"In Denmark and Sweden, women from the queen to the commoners are familiar with
traditional skills like embroidery. The tradition of making things, or in other words,
culture, that is inherited by succeeding generations is something to be jealous of",
